Well I still have an issue on accessing my RTL8195 board with my Mac and I think i am not asking the right question.
I am trying to update the firmware and followed the instructions but something is wrong.
First, I am not seing the volume /CRP\DISABLD as mentioned in the instructions. When I connect to my board a new volume appear and it is called /MBED. I was able to copy the driver file into this volume but it gets me nowhere. if I disconnect and reconnect the board, the file disappears.
Also, when I am trying to upload a sketch from the Arduino editor, that is what i get:
cp "/Users/SergeMAC/Library/Arduino15/packages/realtek/tools/ameba_tools/1.0.9/ram_all.bin" /Volumes/MBED/;sync
it is uploading to the board, I see the communication lights flashing.
But it doesn't upload the sketch....
Can you help me please..
Same answer than the other post - Thanks for inquiring
That is a good timing. just 10 minutes ago I was able to run my first code with the Ameba RTL8195. I found out two things. First, I misread the instructions on installing the new firmware. On Step 2 I was not releasing the button after I clicked it. But now this worked.
On step 2 of the instructions it says "Press the button next to CON1" and I think it should say "Press and release the button next to CON1". Well, maybe I am a bit slow to understand. 🙂
And I struggled with the Arduino software until I realized that the file was uploading to the board but I had to push the reset switch on the board to activate it. It also copy a file at the same time on the MBED volume. It takes more time that a regular Arduino board but it works.
On the arduino board I dont have to push this reset switch. It reboots itself after an upload.
Thanks for inquiring.
