I just received my RTL8710 from Seeed and no matter what I try the only device that shows up in Windows 10 Device Manager is the CH340G serial port. I have other devices that use the MBED driver without any issue.
Arduino doesn't see the RTL8710 on the COM port when trying to download a program.
If I connect to COM port using PuTTY I get an AT command interface.
What is going on? How do I get this to work with Arduino.
... so, If I had understood, the board RTL8710AF (the small one) cannot be used with Artduino IDE but I need the arduino size board as adapter?
This is what I need https://www.seeedstudio.com/Ameba-RTL8710AF-Wireless-Dev-Board-p-2804.html?
So... how I can update my software on the small board?
Thank you Sean for responding.
My Arduino version is 1.8.2 and I am using version 2.0.2 of the Ameba board package.
The message I get in Arduino during "Upload" is "ERR: Cannot find ameba on mbed driver! Please re-plug Ameba". I have tried different cables and different USB ports as per the troubleshooting section.
Is there a button combination I need to press that I am missing?
As previously mentioned I am able to connect using PuTTY so it isn't a USB port or cable issue.
I would have expected Windows to detect a drive, similar to other Mbed devices I have previously used, but instead it only sees the USB serial port device.
